Rutland Round founder to be honoured
A special presentation will take place today
The 'Rutland Round' Founder is to be honoured later by the Rutland Ramblers
The round is 65 miles of circular pathway that can be walked around the county and is marked with special signage and attracts many visitors
After lots of pre planning by the Ramblers, back in 1998 the route created by John Williams was walked for the first time
Working with local organisations and gaining lottery funding the paths were improved and created.
This afternoon (22 August), Rutland Ramblers will be making a presentation to John and his wife Tricia at Ketton Sports Club to celebrate his contributions to rambling.
