Rutland amongst highest spending areas on stop smoking services

Rutland is among the places spending the most money on stop smoking services per person trying to quit.

The research from Go Smoke Free show's nearly fifteen hundred pounds was spent per quitter in the county between April and June, including pharmacotherapies.

Across the county, £5,246 was spent overall on delivering services.

Go Smoke Free are an online vape store, who analysed data from NHS Stop Smoking Services in England between April to June to determine how much each local authority spends on each person attempting to quit smoking.

Across the country:

Gateshead takes the top spot with an average of £43,190 spent per person quitting smoking, including pharmacotherapies.

Buckinghamshire ranked second with an average spend of £22,577 per smoker.

Hammersmith and Fulham placed third with an average spend of £3,750.
