Rutland and Melton's MP has welcomed reports that compulsory vaccinations for NHS workers will be scrapped.

The Telegraph is reporting that the Health Secretary will remove the requirement later.

Under the current policy, staff have to receive their first dose by Thursday (3rd February), in order to be fully vaccinated by April.

However, tens of thousands across the country who remain unvaccinated face losing their jobs.

Posting on social media, Rutland and Melton MP, Alicia Kearns said: 'Whilst I hope every NHS worker will get vaccinated, I hope this is true now that we know that the vaccine only prevents NHS staff passing on COVID-19 for a few weeks.'
