Portugal's now on the amber travel list after thousands of people scrambled home before this morning's deadline.
Those returning from holidays there now have to quarantine at home for at least 10 days.
Many braved the final flight available, which landed this morning, less than two hours before the new rules kicked in at 4am
Bob Wallace from Rutland just got back from Portugal ahead of the deadline.
He described the situation as "shambolic".
Bob says there needed to be much more notice of the changes.
He experienced severe delays and major confusion as they returned following their 2 weeks in the country.
He told us he felt he needed another holiday to get over that one.
Bob also feels sorry for the travel industry in Portugal who were left shocked at the Government's decision last week.
He says many of the people there rely on British tourists and moving them from the green list would have a real impact on the sector.
