People from Rutland who work in Leicester now able to get vaccinated at two new drop in clinics there
Only eligible people or those who live or work in certain areas of the City can get the jab
People from Rutland-who work in Leicester-are now able to get vaccinated at two new drop in clinics which have opened up there.
Vaccinations are being offered to people eligible for the jab in line with national guidelines who live or work in certain areas of the City. They include:
• City centre North
• City centre South and Southfields
• West End
• Newfoundpool
• Spinney Hill
• Charnwood
• St Matthews and St Peters
• Northfields
• Crown Hills
• St Saviours
Authorities say that vaccine uptake is lower in these areas than it is elsewhere.
Caroline Trevithick, Executive Director of Nursing, Quality and Performance for the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Groups said: “I’d like to encourage anyone who is eligible for the vaccine and who lives or works in these priority areas to get their vaccine this weekend, either at a drop-in clinic or by booking an appointment at the Hospital Hubs. These additional vaccination opportunities will only be available for a limited time.”
Other criteria for getting the jab is currently:
•You are aged 30 or over, or you will turn 30 before 1st July 2021*
•You have a health condition which puts you at higher risk from Covid •You are aged 18+ and you live with someone who is at higher risk from Covid either because they are aged 50 or over or they have a health condition
•You are a carer
•You are a health or care worker
