Rutland County Council wants to hear our thoughts on an interim plan for developing housing across the country.

The local authority is inviting comments from residents and interested parties on the Interim Position Statement on Housing Development, which was approved by Cabinet in June 2022.

The Position Statement provides interim guidance which will apply until the Council has adopted a new Local Plan for Rutland, and sets out criteria for what the Council considers good quality development in sustainable locations within Rutland.

The Council says it'll ensure that new homes are delivered in the right places and at an appropriate scale, to help meet Rutland's short term needs.

The next update of the Position Statement will be reviewed as the preparation of the Local Plan progresses and in response to any changes in the Council's five-year housing supply.

You can view the Interim Housing Position Statement and share your comments online. The online form will remain open until 4pm on Friday 28 October.
