People in Rutland reminded it is not too late to get Covid vaccine in time for Christmas
There are walk-in clinics available this weekend
People in Rutland are being reminded that it is not too late to get vaccinated against coronavirus in time for the festive period.
Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland CCGs have a number of walk-in clinics available this weekend and next week, including at the Highcross Shopping Centre in Leicester today and tomorrow (4 and 5 December).
It can be found on the lower ground floor, opposite the former Debenhams store.
A number of additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics will also be available at various locations this weekend and next week, with many operating as walk-ins, so people do not need to make an appointment.
Dr Caroline Trevithick, Executive Director of Nursing, Quality and Performance and Deputy Chief Executive of the Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Groups, said:
"It’s more important now than ever, that we fully protect ourselves against Covid-19.
"People will be planning to go out for Christmas parties or meeting with family and friends for the New Year, so protecting ourselves and our loved ones is vital.
"The vaccine takes a couple of weeks to reach its full effectiveness.
"With just three weeks to go until Christmas, there’s still time to get fully protected before meeting your near and dear ones.
"Whether it’s the first, second, third or booster dose, please have your life-saving jab.
"It really is your best protection against the virus and gives each of us the strongest chance of being able to enjoy the festivities safely with our friends and families.
"Please make this Christmas one to remember for the right reasons, by getting vaxxed to stay on track of your life and everything that’s important to you."
