Rutland Climate Action says a 'coherent plan' is needed to tackle climate change.
The group re-launched last week, ahead of COP 28 beginning in Dubai today.
Rutland Climate Action, and former county council, leader, Lucy Stephenson says there are a number of ways to make Rutland more sustainable.
She said: "Something immediate every single household could do is reduce their waste.
"That's a really simple thing, to reduce food waste."
"Reduce, reuse , recycle but also refuse, ask yourself the question to I need to consume this, whether it's food or clothing."
World leaders are gathering in Dubai for the start of the UN's climate change conference.
King Charles will be there, but US President Joe Biden isn't going, because of the conflict between Israel and Hamas.
The hosts are facing criticism - following allegations the UAE planned to use the summit to strike oil and gas deals.
