An amber heat health alert is in place across the region

A care service in Rutland is warning the current heatwave could have a big impact on elderly people in our region.
An amber heat health alert is in place our Peterborough, Stamford and Rutland until Sunday.
"Change your routine ... anything strenuous do while it's cooler"
According to the met office website, this indicates "a situation in which the expected impacts are likely to be felt across the whole health service, with potential for the whole population to be at risk".
There's particular concern vulnerable and elderly people across the county will be feeling the heat more than others.
Georgie Balmford from Home Straight in Oakham say elderly people can "get dehydrated" or infected, like an UTI, which can lead to confusion.
She added: "It's important they stay hydrated, I'd say that's the most important thing.
"Have things like watermelon or an ice lolly, thing's which are higher in water content.
"Change your routine, so if you were doing gardening, going for a walk, or anything strenuous do it while it's cooler rather than midday.
"Wear sun cream, cooler, lighter clothes, and a hat"
