Two arrested after cannabis plants uncovered in Rutland

Two men have been arrested after 100 cannabis plants were found in Rutland.

Police were called to a house yesterday on the High Street in Morcott.

In a statement the force say: “Following a call made to police yesterday afternoon (Thursday 15 August) regarding two men acting suspiciously in North Luffenham, officers attended the location.

“After an area searched was carried out, one of the men was detained nearby while the second man was detained a short time after in the Wing area.

“As part of their enquiries, officers attended an address in High Street, Morcott and found within the property around 100 cannabis plants.

“Two men aged 18 and 59 have been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and remain in police custody as our investigation continues.”
