Rail services have been significantly disrupted after a person was hit by a train between Stevenage and Peterborough.

Great Northern confirmed the incident at 6:29 PM, stating that all lines between the two stations are currently closed to allow emergency services to attend the scene.

A spokesperson for Great Northern said, "Your journey is likely to be severely delayed. Some trains will be amended, only completing parts of their normal journeys. There will also be some cancellations."

Passengers are advised to consider alternative routes where practical, although further details regarding service adjustments are yet to be provided. Great Northern added, "We don't have an exact estimate for delays at the moment. It's likely you may need to use another route, if there's a practical alternative. We'll let you know more details shortly."
