It's been revealed the memorial statue of Queen Elizabeth II in Rutland will be unveiled on the 21st April, what would have been the late monarch's 98th birthday.

The bronze statue will stand at around 7ft tall, with the Queen's beloved corgis also being cast.

It will sit outside Oakham Library from Sunday, April 21 at 2pm.

The road will be shut from 2-3pm during the unveiling, with street food also available to purchase.

It was commissioned by the Lord Lieutenant of Rutland Dr Sarah Furness and will be the country’s first permanent memorial to the Queen.
