A protest group is targeting the Cottesmore Fox Hunt in Rutland.

Northants Hunt Saboteurs describe themselves as a non- violent direct action group, who aim to put a stop to fox hunting.

Fox hunting has been banned in the UK since the 2004 Hunting Act, but there are exemptions - if foxes pose a danger to livestock, game, crops or fisheries.

Luke's a member of the Northant Hunt Saboteurs.

He told Greatest Hits Radio what happened at the Burley hunt.

"Just opposite the Co-op garage on Burley Road riders were surrounding the wood."

"This is intended to trap young foxes in the woods then allow the hounds to kill the young fox."

"This will be my 4th season with the Northants Saboteurs".

"The reason why I go out "sabbing" is to simply stop the "immoral" and "illegal" fox hunters from killing foxes."

"The reason for cub hunting is simply to train young hounds to kill young foxes".

"This tends to start just after the crop has been harvested and that's happened earlier this year".

We contacted the Cottesmore Hunt for their comments but so far they haven't got back to us.
