The Prime Minister has been near Huntington to launch his plans to increase housebuilding.

Labour is releasing a new housing framework, as it aims to build 1 and a half million homes by the next general election.

Both Sir Keir Starmer and his deputy have been visiting new homes at Alconbury this morning.

Councils will be asked to fulfil conditions which will include targets to build 370-thousand new homes a year.

We managed to get a few moments to speak to Angela Rayner.

She spoke to us about the project.

We can build the houses we need

"By injecting another 500 million pounds next year into the affordable homes project - giving councils the full receipts from right to buy and making sure they can deliver the homes that are desperately needed will give them more financial security."

"It'll build the homes they need."

We asked her how it'll be done".

"Mandatory plans - first of all the local area has to come up with a plan that says - this is our housing need and this is where we think we want the houses and the infrastructure to deliver it."

"We'll work with them to make sure we make sure we get that site and those houses and infrastructure are built."
