Peterborough United boss believes his new team can tackle the challenge to be promoted this season.

Despite the loss of three great League One players, Darren Ferguson said his team are looking strong.

With latest signings, including Susoho on loan from Premier League team Manchester City.

Darren Ferguson said, “I feel good, everyone looks fresh and ready to go.

“I’m very impressed with Susoho, we knew we were signing a very good player but when you see him live and work with him, he’s very good. I don’t want to put too much pressure on him but he will be a very good signing for us.”

Goal keeper, Jed Steer also explained how he is looking forward to the season:

“We had a good pre-season, it’s been a tough 5 weeks with the, training, weather and the games but finally done that side of it and I’m looking forward to the season.

We will hopefully get off to a good start.”

He added playing at home is always an advantage:

“In front of our own fans makes a big difference having them behind us.

It’s always nice to be at home and we need to get off to a good start and win the first game.”

Darren also said how the fans are always a big part of the club:

“Every year they play a massive part. Last year they were initially apprehensive and then pleasantly surprised.

They had real conviction that we would get the job done and belief. And they need to start this season with the same belief. I’m sure they will.

It’s not going to be easy but they have a massive part to play, especially during the tough times which you go through every season.”

Peterborough United take on Huddersfield tonight at 5:30pm BST in their first game of the season.
