Figures show the police force that covers Rutland has issued almost 2,500 fines for breaching coronavirus rules since the start of the pandemic.

The Leicestershire force gave out 9 for not wearing a face covering in public places whilst 7 were for breaking international travel rules.

There were also 17 fines given out to those who have held gathering of more than 30 people. In total 2,411 fines have been issued from the 27th March last year until the 14th March 2021.

Meanwhile Lincolnshire police's total was just under 900 fines issued.

They include 30 for not having a face covering.
