A petition to save Stamford’s Saturday Waste collection service is being presented to Lincolnshire County Council this morning (19 October).

It has been signed by more than 1,600 people and will be presented by 18 year-old student, Rose Battey, who started it.

Rose, who is from Stamford, said:

“This is a well-used, accessible, local service – there is no justification for removing it.”

A previous attempt to end the service was rejected by the Economy & Environment Scrutiny Committee back in 2016.

The petition has the support of both of Stamford’s county councillors.

The meeting will be streamed live on YouTube.
