Peterborough United played two pre-season friendlies last night.

They suffered a 1-0 defeat at PIMS Park against Peterborough Sports.

Just before the half-hour mark Dan Lawlor converted from the spot after Ronnie Edwards brought down Ben Fowkes.

Speaking on Posh +, Darren Ferguson said: "The quality in the last third was no-where near required.

"I've never seen a team block as many shots, Peterborough sports were fantastic."

It was better news elsewhere - Peterborough United eased to a 4-1 victory over non-league Bedford Town.

Joe Tomlinson opened the scoring, firing home a left-foot free-kick from just outside of the penalty area after Kabongo Tshimanga was felled.

Tomlinson doubled the lead with a fine strike from the edge of the box as Posh controlled large swathes of the first half in terms of possession, with Finn Talley only called upon once to keep the Eagles out.

Ephron Mason-Clark scored a third before Emmanuel Fernandez fired home from close-range.
