Peterborough United are one step from their first chance of silverware this season.

Goals from Malik Mothersille and a brace from Harrison Burrows sealed a 3-0 win at Blackpool tonight to book their place in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy final at Wembley Stadium in April.

Posh had chances aplenty in the first half, Mothersille and teammate Joel Randall missing from close range.

But the former Chelsea striker made up for that miss with a well-taken strike on 37 minutes to give Darren Ferguson's team the lead.

Burrows slotted home a penalty on 80 minutes after substitute Ricky-Jade Jones was fouled by Blackpool goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell to double the advantage, before finding the net once again in added time.

It is the second time the two teams have met in three days after the Tangerines beat Posh at the Weston Homes Stadium in a League One fixture on Saturday.

The final at Wembley marks 10 years since Posh's last appearance at the home of English football, which came in the same competition when they beat Chesterfield to lift the trophy.
