Man jailed after destroying room and threatened security guard in Peterborough
Mohamed Abdulwahed used a number of different items in the attack
A man has been sent to prison for destroying the room he was living in and threatened a security guard in Peterborough.
Officers were alerted to an incident taking place on Holdich Street in the West Town area of Peterborough last December following reports of damage to a building.
When officers arrived, they found Mohamed Abdulwahed, 28, smashing a number of different items using a variety of different instruments including a metal pole, a brick and even an office chair.
Speaking at the trial at Peterborough Crown Court, the security officer said that he had heard banging and smashing in the property, which was a house of multiple occupancy.
When the security officer went to investigate the incident, he found that Abdulwahed had smashed the window to his bedroom.
Trying to diffuse the situation, the security officer attempted to calm Abdulwahed down, but he proceeded to threaten the officer, saying he would smash up his office and burn the building down with him inside.
The man was sentenced last Wednesday (April 16th) after being charged for three counts of criminal damage.
Speaking on the case, PC Gavin Taylor from Cambridgeshire Police said: "Abdulwahed is clearly a violent and angry man who not only trashed the property he was living in but also threatened a man who was just trying to do his job."
Abdulwahed pled guilty to the three counts lodged against him, and he was sentenced to three months in prison.
