Peterborough United have won the The Vertu Trophy Final against Birmingham City at Wembley Stadium - becoming the first side to even defend the title.

It finished 2-nil to the Posh after 90 minutes, with goals from Harley Mills after 15 minutes and Hector Kyprianou just before half-time.

It comes after Birmingham City beat Peterborough United 2-1, at Weston Homes Stadium.

'The Blues' came into this one sitting top of the League One Table with 95 points and already having secured both their promotion to the Championship and the league title.

'The Posh' meanwhile arrived at the home of football sitting 16th in League One. They'd won one of their last three games.

What's next?

Peterborough United face Stockport at home on Friday (April 18th) at 3pm. They'll be looking to finish the season strongly, with them now sitting nine points away from the relegation zone.

Birmingham City are also at home against Crawley Town on the 18th. On Saturday, they were crowned champions of League One after Wrexham failed to beat Wigan.
