A Peterborough man who was saved by air ambulance tells us there's a whole community of people ready to support after a traumatic medical emergency.

38-year-old, Jonathan Moran was given life-saving care by the rapid response team of East Anglian Air Ambulance.

He says not only did the team save his life, but the aftercare has been vital in his recovery.

"I didn't realise I'd need this service at all.

"I didn't go home of Friday night and think I'd have the Air Ambulance out Sunday morning, saving my life putting me in the induced coma, getting me to Addenbrooke's.

Jonathan is now in touch with others who have been saved in similar circumstances.

"If the air ambulance wasn't available, wasn't there I wouldn't be here today.

"It is vital we do have this service I would have been found dead at home by my mum probably three days later when she couldn't get hold of me.

"Thankfully we have this service here so they are definitely definitely needed 100%

"I was invited to the peer support group and that's for people who've used the service - that have had whatever they've had wrong with them.

"That really helps you to connect with similar people so you can get chatting with similar people as well and that's opened a few doors so that's really really good.

"I've got back to pretty much normal in 14 months, without it I don't think I would be who I am now - it's vital".
