Today marks the end of temporary traffic measures in Oakham Market place.

Changes were made to the parking bays in July, in response to the covid-19 pandemic.

A temporary one way system, and changes to parking bays, was requested by Oakham Town Council and the independent community group 4Oakham.

It was part of efforts to support outdoor food retail and increase the size of pedestrian areas.

Oakham Town Council and 4Oakham have submitted a further request to Rutland County Council for these temporary measures to be lifted.

As of today, two-way traffic flow will resume in Oakham Market Place and normal parking arrangements restored.
