Some exciting news from Rutland Water over the weekend...

The first osprey egg of the season has hatched at Manton Bay, much to the delight of mother Maya and conservationists working at the site.

Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust says it happened during the incredible aurora displays over the weekend.

Maya first settled at the reservoir in 2009 and makes an annual trip to Africa for the winter.
