Only one Rutland bus service offering cheaper tickets after Government fare cap extended
Centrebus is the only local operator on board with the scheme
Rutland County Council have confirmed that only one bus operator in the area is offering passengers cheaper tickets.
It's after the Government extended it's £2 fare cap until the end of October.
Rutland County Council said Centrebus was on board with the scheme, but it was up to the other operators to decide whether they'd take part.
A spokesperson for the council said: "Bus operators can choose whether they wish to participate in the £2 fare cap scheme, which is now due to run until October 2023.
"Rutland County Council will promote any services offering the fare cap. However, participation in this government scheme is strictly at the discretion of individual bus operators.
"At present, Centrebus is the only local operator taking part."
