New sponsor for Stamford Rugby Club
They've teamed up with Lightspeed Broadband
Stamford Rugby club have announced a new sponsor for its next season.
They've teamed up with Spalding based internet supplier - Lightspeed Broadband.
An important hub of the local community, the Stamford Rugby Club is valued by all generations and LightSpeed will be working closely with the Club throughout the season’s events. The sponsorship also includes providing new playing shirts for all Junior and Senior Men’s and Women’s teams and its coaches.
LightSpeed has been building its next generation full fibre gigabit broadband network in Stamford as part of its roll out across the East of England which started with the mobilisation of more than one hundred engineers in ten towns in April this year and is on track to connect its first customers in Stamford (in the coming weeks) this Autumn.
The firm says full fibre from LightSpeed brings customers a future proof, stable connection which will enable simultaneous professional home working, streaming online entertainment, high speed gaming, and video calling, with no buffering, no lag and no dropouts.
The company, which is managed by a team of highly experienced broadband experts from across the telecoms industry, including BT and TalkTalk, is on a mission to bring its full fibre network to communities across the East of England underserved by their existing broadband infrastructure unlocking their digital potential and becoming the region’s leading provider.
With a target to reach 100,000 homes across the East of England by the end of 2022, extending to 1 million homes by 2025, it has created a new headquarters at Grade II listed Fulney Hall in Spalding, where its network build and customer services teams are based, creating 30 local jobs.
Mark Anderson, Stamford Rugby Chairman, commented: “It’s great to have LightSpeed Broadband on board as our headline sponsor and the support they are bringing for the club. Lightspeed Broadband are a forward thinking business who understand the importance of rugby in the community so this partnership will benefit the hundreds of children we have playing at the club, the many volunteers that keep the club active and the 1st XV who promote the club through great rugby every Saturday.”
Steve Haines, CEO for LightSpeed Broadband, said: “It’s been a pleasure to visit Stamford Rugby Club today, to meet some of the players and to hear how valued the club is locally. As we build our full fibre broadband network in towns across the East of England, we’re keen to work together and get involved with the local communities to make a real difference to residents and we’re delighted to be supporting Stamford Rugby Club. We look forward to meeting more of the teams, their families and the wider community at the Club’s upcoming fixtures.”
