Rutland's getting funding to encourage more young people to take up music at college.

The government's agreed to spend £25 million - which will go towards projects including the Northamptonshire & Rutland Music Education Hub

Figures show the number of students sitting GCSE and A-level exams in the subject has fallen year on year.

Recent research from the London College of Contemporary Music (LCCM) highlights that only a third (32%) of students felt encouraged by the education system to pursue music as a career.
