Man arrested after one man dies in A605 crash

One of the driver's has been charged

A man has died after a crash involving two cars on the A605 Wisbech Road.

The black Vauxhall Insignia and silver Vauxhall Corsa collided on Saturday evening, around 8:30pm.

Paramedics and police were called to the scene, closing the road.

The Corsa driver, a 23-year-old man from Peterborough, died at the scene at Coates.

His passenger was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, and remain there.

45-year-old Owen Bird from March was driving the Insignia, and has since been arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He will appear at Cambridge Crown Court on January 20th, 2025, and remains in custody.

An appeal for information, witnesses and footage is underway.
