A man has died and a woman is in hospital in a life-threatening condition

A man has died and a woman is in hospital in a life-threatening condition after a house fire near Peterborough.
The fire broke out at a terrace house on Crabtree in Paston just before 6am yesterday.
Firefighters rescued two people from the house and performed CPR alongside the ambulance service.
The man was declared dead at the scene.
The woman remains in hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Fire crews from Dogsthorpe, Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, Stanground and Thorney responded to the incident.
The fire was extinguished and all crews left the area by around 12pm.
A investigation is underway to establish the most likely cause of the fire.
