Man wearing Halloween costume charged after crash in Oakham

An Oakham man has been charged after crashing his car at the weekend while wearing a Halloween costume.
Police in Rutland say the crash happened on Cold Overton Road on Saturday at around 11.20pm. He then fled on foot before being tracked down and arrested on suspicion of drinking driving and assaulting an emergency worker.
30-year-old Ben Rhodes has since been charged with failing to provide a specimen sample.
He is due to appear before Leicester Magistrates’ Court on 15 November.
