Plan B coronavirus restrictions have come to an end, meaning face coverings are no longer needed by law in Stamford and Rutland.

There's no legal requirement for Covid passes either.

People are no longer advised to work from home wherever possible.

We asked Lincolnshire health bosses whether they thought it was the right time to ease the measures.

Andy Fox is Lincolnshire's assistant director of public health he says:

"There is clear evidence numbers have come down, from where they were."

"Obviously whenever you lift restrictions there are some risks so we just want people to be cautious and we won't see numbers going up too far".

"This is balancing the risks of releasing restrictions against the impact and the damage that restrictions do - so it's just understanding if this is the right time".

"I think this is one of the reasons numbers have come down, people haven't got back to a pre pandemic way of life where they see lots of people socially".

"If that remains a cautious reintroduction there's lots of optimism we won't see a surge in numbers".

"A lot of modelling is predicting further waves of Covid perhaps later in the year when all restrictions are eased and maybe when some immunity from jabs wanes".

"I'm cautiously optimistic but we'll have to wait and see".
