Young carers in Lincolnshire are calling for extra support as two thirds reveal they're more worried about the future than they were before the pandemic.

Today is Young Carers Action day.

A study shows more than two thirds of them are more worried about the future due to the pandemic.

Nearly half have had more problems with mental health.

Lockdown, school closures and financial insecurity have all played their part in raising stress and anxiety levels.

That's been even worse for anyone who also has caring responsibilities.

Some have even experienced worries during times when schools have been open because they're concerned about how the family member they look after is coping without them.

The pandemic has also made it difficult for them because carers have been stuck in the house for much longer spells than usual.

Kelly Massie works with young carers in Lincolnshire.

She says it has been tough but they've also been opportunities as well such as being in contact virtually which could help them in the future.
