Lincolnshire Police are looking for young people aged between 13-18 to represent the force as Volunteer Police Cadets.

Successful applicants will have access to a varied cadet programme, where different aspects of policing will be taught.

Lessons will be given on the law and how laws are applied, powers of arrest, the police caution, the criminal justice system and a range of other police procedures.

Cadets will also be encouraged and supported into joining community-based action projects.

Lincolnshire Police say the benefits for a new recruit are as follows:

  • Make new friends
  • Help to reduce crime
  • Help to make a difference in your community
  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of the Police Force
  • Gain and develop valuable skills
  • Gain a sense of social responsibility

Do I fit the bill?

Lincolnshire Police are looking for volunteer cadets at Spalding, Bourne and Boston crops.

To be eligible, applicants must live or attend school within the Lincolnshire Police boundary, and be available to attend the corps every Wednesday evening.

Interview dates will be advertised when recruitment opens - the process is advertised to 13-16 year olds, though young people can remain as a cadet until 18 years of age.
