A Lincolnshire police officer has completed a 48-mile ultramarathon to raise awareness of road safety.

Mike Templeman ran 1 mile in remembrance for each road traffic victim that died on Lincolnshire's roads in 2022.

He has been a police officer for over 21 years.

The run was also to raise awareness for the 'Fatal 4' offences: drink/drug driving, speeding. mobile phones and speed belts.

He ran the full 48 miles around the Yarborough Leisure Centre 400 metre running track (193 laps) in Lincoln on Sunday 19th November.

The date coincides with World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims.

Mike says he hopes to do the event every year, with 9 years left in the police force.

He says that his 21-years in the Force has shown him "first hand" he devastation of road fatalities.
