Leicester City Football Club raise awareness for prostate cancer
Club Ambassador Alan Birchenall joined walkers on laps around the King Power last week
Leicester City Football Club's community team have partnered up with local charities to raise awareness around prostate cancer in men.
Leicester City In The Community hosted a 'March for Men' fundraiser at the King Power Stadium on Thursday, alongside ProstAID and representatives from Sue Young Cancer Support.
Members of the public joined club ambassador Alan 'Birch' Birchenall to walk laps around the ground in the cold, snowy conditions.
Birch says everyone coming together in the freezing weather only shows a greater level of support:
"I've been one of the patrons for ProstAID locally, Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. It's just a fantastic event. The conditions aren't fantastic, but it makes people more aware of prostate cancer. Anything I can do, as I say, I'm only too willing to help."
He added: "Get checked, that's it, two words. Get checked. In the long run it will benefit you and you'll get all the help you can wish for so good luck to all the guys out there."
