Lakeside Healthcare at Stamford patients will have the chance to hear from the chief executive of the provider, Jessica Bawden, at a Patient Participation Group (PPG) meeting tonight.

She'll make the address at the PPG's annual general meeting, taking place at 6pm at Stamford Town Hall.

It's expected those attending will hear about new doctors and clinicians who've joined Sheepmarket Surgery and St Mary's Medical Practice, as well as a new system designed to improve the process of getting appointments.

In 2022, our Crisis At The Clinic investigation found the number of patients at Lakeside Healthcare at Stamford fell by almost 2,500 in two years - with patients citing problems with getting appointments among concerns.

"Lakeside have listened"

Chair of the PPG, Julie Clarke, said the practice had improved since then and is optimistic more positive changes are on the way:

'For the past two years. we've been making sure patient's voices are being heard. Lakeside have listened, and Lakeside are putting improvements in place.'

'A lot of patient's questions will be answered, and they will see the improvements that have been made. There'll be a presentation showing the new doctors that have been employed and the practice nurses.'

She added: 'I wasn't happy, certainly when we had negative reports from the CQC. I knew that needed to change, so I put that to Lakeside and they have listened. They've listened to all of us on the PPG.'

'The new CEO has been very open to talking to patient groups. We've been consulted along the way when new things have been introduced.'
