A 19-year-old man who robbed children at knifepoint in Peterborough has been sentenced to 11 years in jail.
Ishaan Jha threatened young people on multiple occasions with a knife at the Bushfield Centre in Orton Goldhay in February.
The knife-point robbery victims included a 12-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy.
Jha was also part of a group of men who assaulted two boys and a girl aged 13, 14 and 15 before stealing their e-scooters.
He stole phones, air pods and e-scooters all outside the Bushfield Centre.
He denied the charges against him at Cambridge Crown Court but was found guilty of:
- Four counts of robbery
- Two counts of being in possession of a knife
- One count of attempted robbery
Cambridgeshire detectives found that Jha was travelling from Nottingham to Peterborough to carry out the robberies.
DC Matt Reed, who investigated, said: “Jha travelled into Peterborough specifically to commit these offences and had no regard for the impact on his victims.
“It was a harrowing experience for the young victims, and I hope this sentence provides some closure for them and their families.”
