Great Missenden's 'Nag's Head' named best pub in Buckinghamshire
“It would just be incredible to be now named as the national"
A family run pub in Chilterns, the Nag’s Head has been labelled the best pub in Bucks after this year’s National Pub and Bar Awards, where it achieved a county winner title.
As one of 94 winners across the UK, it will now be up for a regional award, and is eligible to become the National Pub and Bar of the Year Award.
The Great Missenden Pub has recently undergone several changes, one of those being new owners, with Alvin Michaels and his son Adam stepping away, the newly- formed pub company RedCat have taken their place.
Within just one week of owning the pub, RedCat have won this title of best pub in Buckinghamshire.
Steph Gale is the marketing manager and has said it’s a great way to introduce the new owners:
“It was actually in our first week with the new owners that we’ve won this award. So, where we’re sort of now becoming one as a group, it was a real good moral booster, a really good way to start our journey within that company, by winning this accolade.”
Steph followed this by saying that she will be attending the grand finale, which takes place on the 22nd of June in London.
“It would just be incredible to be now named as the national, that would be, you know, icing ontop of the cake, but yeah we’ll definitely go. Sounds like a great day out if nothing else.”
