The Government's announced a new fund to support grassroots sports teams across the UK

The money will go towards the cost of new pitches, changing rooms, goalposts and floodlights.

Sport Minister Stuart Andrew said: "the benefits (of this fund) are amazing. You become healthier you get happier, you meet with other people in your community, but none of it would happen without the brilliant volunteers."
"a great deal more has to be done"
Stamford AFC Women coach, Robin Chaudhuri said he'd like to see more money for local grassroots clubs: "Obviously to the clubs receiving the money, it's great news. In reality probably every team in our counties would welcome some sort of financial help."
"I'm afraid, whilst any form of funding is to be welcomed, a great deal more has to be done if we are to keep youth and adult football alive."
"In the grand scheme of things it is relatively small amounts, compared to the needs of many clubs."
