"Heavy rain has been falling on the River Glen catchment over the past 24 hours. The River Glen is now rising, and is forecast to continue to rise throughout the night. The rising river levels have already caused flooding of low lying land and roads in Greatford. Due to the deteriorating weather conditions we now expect properties in the Greatford area to be affected from the early morning of Wednesday 20th January onwards. Low lying properties near the river in Greatford Gardens are most at risk. Stay safe and aware of your local surroundings. Avoid contact with flood water, riverside paths, and stay away from river embankments. We are closely monitoring the situation. Our staff are out in the area to check the flood defences, clear blockages, and assist the Emergency Services and Council"
