Over 50 firefighters tackle fire on roof of Lidl building in Peterborough

Over 50 fire fighters are at the scene of a fire on the roof of a Lidl Distribution centre in Peterborough.

Emergency services were called to the building in Alwalton at around 2pm this afternoon.

In a statement on X, Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Over 50 firefighters have been at the scene of a commercial building fire in Alwalton near Peterborough this afternoon tackling a roof fire."

"Crews have worked well to bring the fire under control and are now dampening the area down."
