Superintendent Robin Sissons, from Cambridgeshire Police, said: "We know there's sometimes an increase in disturbances and violence sometimes, in events where more alcohol is being used...
...we will try and respond to that to try and prevent crime from happening."
"We're putting more officers on the streets and in places where there'll be gatherings...
..our licensing officers are working in partnership with our licensed premises to make sure they've got all the support they need."
He added: "We've done a lot of victim support and we've got hotlines that any potential victim can call to contact the police, if they're worried at all, so that we can come before it gets to the sad situation where someone is assaulted."
