The Discover Rutland Annual Ball has raised £2,000 which will go towards further promotion of the county.

It was held on 31 October, marking the end of the high season and Rutland Food and Drink Week.

Chairman Jason Allen said:

"We always like to end the season on a high and this year was especially poignant for many of us as it has been such a tough 18-months.

"As always, our members stepped up and supported us and we had our most successful ball ever, with money raised going towards helping us to promote Rutland even further next year.

"It was especially great to see some of our business partners there, such as ArcTec Systems which sponsored the autumn/winter Discover Rutland magazine.

"With a more sober focus, the Annual Tourism Forum later this month is a chance for us to reflect on what we’ve achieved over that time and look to the future."

The event will take place at The Waterside Café, Normanton, on 22 November from 9am.

It will give people an opportunity to network with businesses in the area, learn about past successes and future plans for the destination management organisation.

It is free to attend, but tickets must be booked in advance by emailing tourism@rutland.gov.uk .
