Concerns about exam stress amongst students across Peterborough, Stamford and Rutland
A level results are released tomorrow along with other exam results
Students across Peterborough, Stamford and Rutland get their A level results tomorrow but there are fears over the stress some may be experiencing over what their grades might be.
The whole exam process can see some experiencing mental health issues.
Their results can determine whether or not they get their first choice Uni or career path.
We've been speaking to Beka Avery, chair of trustees at Mindspace in Stamford about the issue:
She advises: “Be really proud of yourself whatever results you get."
It is just one small step on a much longer journey and there is always a plan B
"You need to remember that this is a big milestone and having worked hard, having sat your exams and making it to results day is a really big achievement."
"Do those things that make you feel calm, relaxed and good about yourself.”
“Whilst results day can feel like a really big thing at the time and it is important."
"Actually, it is just one small step on a much longer journey and there is always a plan B."
"You are good enough, you’ve worked really hard and whatever you get you should be proud of yourself.”
“Results day whatever the outcome, and you do not get the results you want does not mean that your journey is over."
"There is always another option."
You can re-sit exams; you can go to other places than where you planned
"Sometimes I worry that we put too much pressure on results day and if you don’t achieve on that day then you’ve blown it."
"This is absolutely not the case.”
“Everything will be ok and there are lots of alternatives."
"If you want some ideas and inspiration of activities you can do to help you take your mind off any worries you may be feeling regarding results day then contact MindSpace Stamford.”
“You can re-sit exams; you can go to other places than where you planned."
"You will still have fun and meet new people and you will still be following a journey towards your goals, it might just look a bit different to the journey you planned."
"There is always a plan B and everything will be ok.”
