Woman fends off man who tried to steal car in Oakham
There have been a string of car thefts in recent weeks

A woman in Oakham has fended off a man trying to steal her car, in a string of incidents across the weekend.
Late Saturday night (2nd), police received reports about a burglary at a shop.
Three people broke into the premises and stole clothes from the store on the High Street.
Two of the suspects made off with the items in a van.
The third suspect ran off towards the train station.
Shortly after midnight (Sunday 3rd), a second report was received from a woman who was in Station Road.
She was in her vehicle when a man attempted to steal her car.
Police say she managed to resist, and the suspect made off.
A few minutes later a third report was received from the driver of a vehicle in Melton Road who was approached by a man who tried to steal his car and then made off empty handed.
Leicestershire Police say they do believe the reports to be linked, and are asking for anyone with information to get in touch.
