Who are the candidates running in the South Kesteven by-election?

Votes will be taken to fill three wards in the area

South Kesteven District Council (SKDC) will hold a by-election on February 24 to elect new members to Isaac Newton and Aveland wards.

The elections will fill seats left by Councillors Bob Adams (Isaac Newton) and Dr Peter Moseley (Aveland).

Councillor Moseley resigned from his position last month, after accusing Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of "going all Hitler" when introducing vaccine mandates.

Councillor Bob Adams died in November, aged 81, and had represented the Isaac Newton Ward since May 2007 - serving as leader of the SKDC from 2015-2017.

An additional vote will also take place to fill Councillor Adams' former Lincolnshire County Council Ward of Colsterworth Rural.

The candidates for each ward can be seen below:

Aveland Ward

  • Richard Dixon-Warren (Conservative)
  • Barry Hare (Labour)

Isaac Newton

  • Stuart Fawcett (Labour)
  • Ben Green (Conservative)
  • Andrew Skelton (Unaligned)
  • Mike Turner (Green)

Colsterworth Rural

  • Harrish Bisnauthsing (Liberal Democrats)
  • Stuart Fawcett (Labour)
  • Mike Turner (Green Party)
  • Charlotte Vernon (Conservative)

Polling stations will be open on February 24th from 7am-10pm - those unable to visit their local polls can vote by post.
