Campaigners in Rutland reveal fears over reorganisation of Leicestershire hospitals.
They believe changes won't bring about the improvements health bosses say it will.
Campaigners in Rutland claim a 450 million pounds plan to revamp Leicestershire’s hospitals will effectively close the General leaving a shortage of beds, lack of maternity services and not enough resources to fight coronavirus.
Health bosses say the project will create a children’s hospital and maternity hospital at the treatment centre at Glenfield and two ‘super’ intensive care units with 100 beds in total almost double the current number.
But protestors believe the changes won’t bring the improvements to services they promise and will create problems.
The health trust has denied claims General Hospital will close.
