Brooke Road in Oakham will fully reopen soon
The road in Rutland has been closed since July
A road in Oakham in Rutland is set to fully reopen on Monday (18th November).
The level crossing and Brooke Road have been closed since July for essential highway and Utility works as part of a development in Brooke Road Allotments Development.
The road should reopen tomorrow (Friday 15th November) from 5pm for vehicles and pedestrians with a level crossing inspection due over the weekend.
Rutland County Council have said:
"The closure was expected to remain in place until the end of November, having been extended due to unavoidable delays encountered by developer Burmor Construction Ltd.
"Burmor Construction is now scheduled to complete its highway works and reopen the road to vehicles and pedestrians from 5.00pm on Friday 15 November.
"Network Rail is due to carry out a scheduled inspection of Brooke Road Level Crossing under closure between 7.30am and 2.30pm on Sunday 17 November.
"Brooke Road will then reopen in full from Monday 18 November.
"Burmor Construction Ltd and Rutland County Council would like to thank Oakham residents and businesses for their considerable patience while Brooke Road has been closed.
"The closure was needed to support the building of 40 much-needed affordable homes and widen the carriageway between Cricket Lawns and Derwent Drive, to help reduce traffic and congestion in this area."
