The Chairman of Blackstones FC in Stamford hits back at plans for a European Super League
Gary Peace has described the proposals as a 'disgrace' to the sport

All six Premier League teams who'd signed up to the European Super League have dropped out.
The competition was only formed just over 48 hours ago but there's been widespread criticism of it.
Boris Johnson threatened to change the law to stop it progressing further.
The Chairman of a non-league football club in Stamford has described plans to create a European Super League as a 'disgrace'.
Six English top-flight clubs originally signed up to the proposal, which's been widely criticised before changing their minds and withdrawing.
Gary Peace runs Blackstones F.C, who play in Division One of the United Counties League.
He reckons if it had gone ahead, it would have damaged the game at grassroots level:
"We're at Step 6, and we rely on volunteers, which's very difficult. We all work very hard behind the scenes though, despite how tough the last year has been with the pandemic.
"If the proposal became reality, it'd be no good for a club like ours.
Mr. Peace also expressed his anger at the timing of the announcement:
"To announce this when they have is absolutely shocking. We've been in a pandemic for the last year. A lot of clubs have lost money and are losing money.
"We haven't played a game since before Christmas.
"This was done deliberately while there's no fans in stadiums. If that wasn't the case, we'd be seeing more and more protests."
