Staff at Belvoir Castle are mourning the loss of their resident barn owl, Percil.

In a statement shared online they say he passed away "peacefully" Monday night.

Percil was much loved at the house, often taking part in charity work and much loved by local children.

The Castle said he was "a treasured member of the Belvoir Castle family" and will be "remembered always".
